Tactics of Afghan Mujahideen used in attack on Kadyrov's stronghold

Publication time: 1 September 2010, 19:51

On the photo: Martyr Mujahideen (Insha'Allah), participants in the raid on the Kadyrov's hometown of Khosi-Yurt

Several days after the Mujahideen raid on the fortified hometown of the Russian minions ringleader Kadyrov, the village of Khosi-Yurt (AKA Tsenteroi), that shocked local puppets and Russian invaders, and after receiving additional information, both from the participants in the operation, and from local residents, a detailed picture of the incident could roughly made.

As it turned out, the tactics of the Taliban in Afghanistan has actually been used during the planning and the implementation of the special operation, which was organized and conducted at the initiative of commanders of the Mujahideen Abdurrahman, Zaurbek, and Mahran.

A representative of Mujahideen phoned to the Chechen Service of Radio Liberty and said that a martyr squad consisting of 10 fighters participated in the raid on Khosi-Yurt.

He also said that the latest attack was not the last one, and they would continue to carry out such raids in the future.

It is to be recalled that the essence of the Taliban tactics is that a detachment of martyr Mujahideen, usually consisting of 5 to 30 fighters (depending on the task), attacks a pre-selected target and carries out a combat operation with no retreat plans.

In some cases, when the military task is accomplished and the goal is achieved, and the enemy is suppressed and disorganized, the Mujahideen, survived in the battle, have an opportunity to return to their base.

Such martyrdom operations cause great military and psychological damage to the enemy.

It is to be mentioned thereupon that Shamil Basayev (martyr, Insha'Allah) used similar tactics during the planning of raids deep into the enemy's territory.

However, the principal difference lies in the goal of these operations.

Planning raids for the units of the Brigade of Martyrs, Riyad-us-Saliheen, Shamil Basayev followed not military, but political goal - forcing the enemy for negotiations, therefore his tactics included hostage taking to create conditions for negotiations.

The Basayev's operations, though subversive in form, were political in essence.

The Taliban use different challenges. The goal of the martyrdom operations of the Afghan Mujahideen is to deliver a maximum military and psychological damage to the enemy, suppress the enemy, oust it from the occupied territories, and not negotiations.

It is to be also mentioned that after the Beslan raid, Shamil Basayev revised his approaches in conducting similar raids. The Nalchik operation that followed demonstrated that the Mujahideen are looking for new approaches, both in tactics and strategy.

The Sunday's attack on Khosi-Yurt showed that the tactics of using martyrdom squads are also efficient in Chechnya, as in Afghanistan.

The enemy suffered a heavy blow, and primarily a psychological one. In fact, Sunday morning, August 29, 2010, may become a point for the beginning of a new situation.

Puppet chieftains and their families are no longer secure even in their own rat holes, behind the walls of Russian bayonets and fortified fortresses. This is a new situation, which creates new conditions and changes the character of the confrontation.

Very indicative was the reaction to the events in Khosi-Yurt in the Chechen society.

People from mouth to mouth convey clearly exaggerated stories about the Mujahideen attack on Khosi-Yurt, depicting various scenes, in which the role of cowards and scoundrels are given to Kadyrov's puppets, who were brought to knees by the Mujahideen.

These stories and people's faith that everything happened just like that mean that it is wished and waited for in the whole Chechnya.

As rightly remarked by one commentator, it is doesn't matter how many people were actually killed on both sides, as it doesn't matter what Kadyrov and Russian media say.

The reaction of the Chechen society on the Mujahideen raid showed that people had clearly waited this.

Ordinary people are satisfied with the fact that there are men who not only humiliated and scared Kadyrov and his proxies to death, not only punished the hateful pack of scoundrels and bastards, but also demonstrated that sooner or later, the day of reckoning comes in every Kadyrov's house, and no Russian bayonets and fortress wall will help them to survive.

As for the military part of the operation, according to the data received from Chechnya, the operation began between 3 and 4 am. The main forces of the Mujahideen paved the way for a martyrs detachment to the village, destroying checkpoints with armored vehicles.

http://imgs2.kavkazcenter.com/russ/content/2010/09/01/74957_2.jpg 10 martyrs drove into the village in three vehicles and dispersed into group of 2 to 3 fighters, and attacked the puppets. (See photo of one of the martyrs, Insha'Allah, a participant in the raid on Khosi-Yurt)

One of the teams broke to the Kadyrov's house, and according to data from the field, the puppet ringleader's residence was shelled with RPGs. There is no precise information on whereabouts of Kadyrov at that time. It is known that the Mujahideen called him on the radio, but he did not answer.

The battle within the precincts of the village lasted for more than 2.5 hours. The main forces of the Mujahideen cut off for some time the attempts of Kadyrovites and Russian invaders to bring additional forces to the village, although there were more than a thousand puppet soldiers, armed to the teeth, who were deployed in Khosi-Yurt.

It is to be mentioned in this regard that there is still no full information on how the operation proceeded. As there is no exact information about how many Kadyrov's puppets were killed.

The Mujahideen give figures of 10 to 15 eliminated enemies, among whom there were several people close to Kadyrov. According to the Mujahideen, more than 20 puppet soldiers were injured.

It is to be mentioned that according to occupation sources, 6 Kadyrov's policemen were killed and 18 others wounded during the raid of the Mujahideen. It is also claimed that 7 unnamed villagers were injured. Thus, according to the version of the occupiers, the total casualties of the puppets made 31 elements.

Sources in the field reported that the houses of the ringleader of the MIA, Ruslan Alkhanov, his deputy Roman Edilov, the OMON (Special Task Police Unit) gang ringleader named Alikhan, the puppet prefect of Gudermes district, Vakha Nasukhanov, a MP of the Kadyrov's parliament, Khasika Khizriyev, and etc, had been shot on or set ablaze during the special operation in Khosi-Yurt.

Russian sources acknowledged that the ringleader of the "Grozny city interior department" gang, a certain Tagirov, had been seriously wounded in Khosi-Yurt.

Aslambek Elemkhanov, one of the commanders of Kadyrov's puppet gangs, a cousin of Vakhit Usmayev (call sign "Jihad"), commander of the regimen # 2 named after Kadyrov, who had been rewarded by Russia for kidnapping, murder and torture of Chechens, was killed in his house.

The Aslambek Elemkhanov's house, as well as several of his cars, earned through kidnappings, were burnt by Chechen Mujahideen. A few people from among ordinary Kadyrov's puppets and security members were also eliminated in his house.

A certain Chuchkhadzhiyev, a security guard of Kadyrov, was killed in his house at the same night during the targeted raid. He was shot dead straight in his bed.

This element was known as one of the most active kidnappers and master in tortures. He was also known for mocking at corpses of the killed people.

A son of Khaybarkh Khizriyev and a cousin of Khasik Khizriyev, was also killed. This puppet was one of the elements close to Kadyrov.

The executed Khizriyev was known for abductions, tortures and murders. In 2004, he took part in an abduction of a woman with a one year old baby in her arms. He was famous for refusing the woman a bottle of milk for the baby.

This is only a small part of the information of what really happened in Khosi-Yurt. Kadyrov is doing everything possible that the truth about the Mujahideen raid on his hideout could not leak outside Khosi-Yurt.
