Deputy Commander of the Shali Sector of Eastern Front of The Caucasus Emirate Armed Forces, Amir (Commander) Muslim told the Chechen editorial staff of Radio Liberty some details of the special operation that the Caucasus troops (Mujahideen) carried out in the village of Elistanzhi early last Sunday morning of Jumada Al-Akhirah 25, 1429 (June 29, 2008).

According to Commander Muslim, over 100 Caucasus commandos (Mujahideen) from the Shali and Vedeno Sectors of Eastern Front were taking part in the operations. The units of the Mujahideen entered the village Saturday night (during the evening prayer) and left Elistanzhi Sunday morning (after taking part in the morning prayer in the village).

Commander Muslim confirmed Kavkaz Center's information that a convoy of Russian invaders (kuffar/infidels) and their pro-Russian accomplices (murtadin/apostates) was attacked when it was heading for Elistanzhi from the direction of Eshelhatoi. 1 armored URAL truck and UAZ van (a "pill") stuffed with kuffar and local apostates were destroyed.

"Russians did not report it in the news," Commander Muslim pointed out.

According to the Commander of the Mujahideen, the Elistanzhi operation was carried out on the order of Commander-In-Chief of the Caucasus Emirate, Dokka Umarov. Commander Muslim also reported that three enemy bases were attacked right inside the village: two bases of pro-Russian apostates (murtadin) and one base of Russian kuffar.

Commander Muslim told that neither collaborators nor Russian kuffar put up virtually any resistance at all. They were crying and begging not to kill them. No exact numbers of the invaders and their collaborators killed are available. "But those who got out, we downed them all," Commander said.

The convoys that arrived for backup from the direction of the villages of Khattuni and Eshelhatoi were stopped by the units of the Caucasus troops (Mujahideen) that were blocking the perimeter. Commander Muslim reported that Russian invaders (kuffar/infidels) and their local accomplices (apostates/murtadin), who came from the direction of KKhattuni, stopped near Elistanzhi after they were attacked with lower-barrel grenade-launchers.

Commander reported that mobile units of the Mujahideen started advancing towards the convoys of Russian kuffar and pro-Russian murtadin (apostates). The invaders and their puppets never dared engage in a battle with the Mujahideen and entered the village only after making sure that the Mujahideen left the village by dawn.

Commander Muslim announced that to this day the Mujahideen have been calling on the pro-Russian collaborators to leave the formations of the kuffar and not serve the invaders.

"From now on we will be eliminating them. So we are addressing their parents once again to take their sons from there," Commander announced.

Concerning the casualties, Amir Muslim said that none of the Mujahideen was killed or wounded out of over 100. "The same situation was in Dargo and in other places as well. All operations have been successful, praise Allah," Amir Muslim concluded.

Earlier on, Russian media were referring to the pro-Russian accomplices and claiming that the Mujahideen spent only 15-20 minutes in the village, opened fire at the "village police station", killing one policeman and one peaceful civilian, and then left in a hurry. This disinformation was widely circulated in the Western media.
